Bow Horse Hydra Hybrid Rug: Style, Comfort, and Practicality Combined
The Bow Horse Hydra Hybrid horse rug is a super stylish summer cover designed with comfort, practicality and comfort in mind.
It features a strong 250 gsm cotton feel technical polyester fabric to provide protection against UV, flies, dirt and dust. The mesh panel in the rug and neck rug not only look great but also help provide extra airflow on hot days. The hydra hybrid horse rug comes standard with our trademarked, lined, detachable Ripple™ neck rug, designed to help prevent mane loss by reducing pressure on the mane and increasing air availability. There is elastic at the top of the neck rug to help stop sliding, and easy to fasten velcro straps. The rug has adjustable, angled chest straps designed to fit a variety of horses and has the extra security of a double lock velcro strap. The shoulder and chest section of the rug is double lined and acts as an integrated bib, designed to prevent shoulder rubbing. An easy to to use, elasticated PVC covered tail cord is included, while the rug has all the fittings you need to add leg straps if preferred (leg straps sold separately). There is a full coverage, lined tail flap plus a removable tail bag and stitched in tail bag attachment.
The mesh on the 24/25 hydra hybrid is medium weight 225gsm which has medium strength and durability while still maintaining good airflow. Due to this, we do not recommend this product for horses who like to scratch, roll a lot, get caught up on spikey things, play rough with their friends etc.
Really happy with finally being able to get a 5'3" (NZ) rug that is adjustable and fits my mare - in the past I've had to size down to get a nice front fit but it's meant a bit of her bum has poked out.
The quality, construction and fittings seem great so far and it has washed up well. I've removed a star as the neck rug (XL) could be a little longer through the neck (for context, 16.1 solid WB). It's also the first neck rug that hasn't rubbed her mane out so far - long may it last!
Very nice quality fabric and construction. Tail bag included which is a nice touch. Fittings all good quality and rug is very secure. Having the detachable neck is great. Would say that sizing is on the large size as our 6'9" is the same as comparable 7' rugs we have. Quick post. Would like more stock listed online as would have ordered more but sizing was not available.
These combos are true to size, fit well and the neck rug saves the mane! Love the fully lined tail bag (with sewn on attachments) and that the neck rug is detachable. I will be buying more.
Love this rug. It’s fits beautifully on my boy. He had plaits in on the wknd and they were still there in the morning, bonus.
The fit is great. Sizing equal to weatherbeeta for reference. Looks great too. Tail cord broke within 8hours, little clip came off end. Not to sure about longevity of velcro as super soft but is a double grip so hoping this negates need for stronger velcro. I would buy again.
